Paying Rent:

It may look like I'm rollin' in dough, but I'm actually getting ripped off. Enough said...

Hello Again...

Sorry, it has taken so long to continue writting of my adventures here, but we are finally back in the lovely city of Barcelona, which we now refer to as "home." We went away on a 10 day excursion through the south of Spain and visited Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, and Seville. And while I would love to jump right into my travels I feel that I must catch you up on the events which lead up to my journey.

So for this entry, I'll talk about our first weekend here in Barcelona. We managed to arrive during the busiest, most crowded time of the year for the people here in Barcelona: Three Kings Day. It is actually bigger than Christmas and for those who can't really imagine that, it is kind of like what Mardi Gras is for the people of New Orleans (only with a hint of the Bible thrown in there, but just as much drinking). Below are some pics of what it looked like outside our our apartment window. There were all kinds of food, toy, game, and shopping stands lined up all along Gran Via.
Everyone from both apartments decided to get together and head down to Placa Catalunya to watch the parade. You would have thought that we were walking through Times Square in New York with all the people we had to push ourselves through if it hadn't been for everyone around us speaking in Spanish or Catalan. (Catalan is the main language here in this region of Spain. It's a mix between French, Spanish, and I've heard a little bit of Italian.) It was cold but exciting to be around so much energy. The parade was a procession of the Three Kings following the North Star along Calle de Pelai.
